Jeder Stein
ist eine Träne
Jeder Fluss
wird ewig sein
Atme ein den warmen Wind
Sonnenstrahlen auf der Haut
Streiche über die haut der Bäume
Die Rinde, Rau und reich an Tagen
Bin ich weg
sind sie noch hier
Wie lange noch, kann keiner sagen
Der Atem wird nicht immer sein
Wie die Erde, wie der Wind
Jedes Blatt, vom Strom getragen, wird ein neuer Anfang sein

Könnt ich nur so lange leben
was würde ich dann alles sehn...
Drück die Hände in den Boden
So viel hat der Grund erlebt
Geschichten aus Milliarden Jahren
Zu schrecklich, als dass man sie erträgt
Was wurde ihr schon angetan
Was hat der Grund erlebt

Ich kann nicht mehr ewig bleiben
Werd bald schon vergessen sein
Nimm diese Ode an das Leben
da außer Dreck, nichts von mir bleibt
Will hier unten nicht verweilen
Wenn nicht gebraucht und nicht gewollt
Warum sind wir nicht wie die Bäume
Weise, mächtig, nicht allein?

Dürft ich nur so lange bleiben
könnte ich nur Zeuge sein...
Reck die Hände hin zu der Sonne
Lass mich hier unten nicht allein
Durch jede Zeit von Dunkelheit
war diese Aura immer nah
Und ich warte auf das Ende
Das einzige was ich sicher hab
Wenn die Sonne in den Wolken stirbt
entschwind ich mit dem letzten Strahl
Noch fließt Blut durch meine Venen
Doch frag ich mich, was wird es wohl da oben geben?
Bis ich's erlebe ist's mir egal

Warum all diese Qualen
warum muss der Weg so steinig sein...
Darum werd ich weiter warten
Hoffen auf eine bessre Zeit
Werd mit allem was ich hier gesehen
in das Licht der Sonne gehen.

I can not stay eternally

Take this ode to life
As nothing but dirt will remain of me

If I only could live that long
